Other Football Air Disasters
The Munich air disaster killed several members of the English side Manchester United in 1958.
The 1989 crash of Surinam Airways Flight 764 killed a group of Surinamese players known as The Colourful 11, whose members played professionally in the Netherlands.
The Italian Torino FC side known as Il Grande Torino that dominated post-war Italian football was lost in the Superga air disaster in 1949.
The 1987 Alianza Lima air disaster killed nearly the entire staff of the Peruvian side Alianza Lima.
